Empowering Communities to Regenerate London from Seed to Solar Power

Energy Garden activates rail stations, train depots, local schools, hospitals and housing estates with solar panels, battery storage and gardens. This results in thousands of m2 grey space turned green and millions of MW hours of renewable electricity generated to decarbonise our communities.

The 30 energy gardens in our network connect with 365,000 London commuters per day. To date, this programme has:

  • Transformed thousands of square metres of London Overground trackside space

  • Activated 300 volunteers

  • Supported 130 community groups over 14 local authorities

  • Held 120 public consultations

  • Run family fun days for over 4,000 people

  • Put on 89 sessions in 44 schools with 2,400 children

  • Provided AQA-accreditation for 56 young Londoners in renewable energy and horticulture

  • Held 400 gardening events

Energy Garden is launching a community share offer to install 10MW of solar on London’s rooftops in the next 10 years. With your help, revenue from these solar panels will support London's Overground community gardens bringing huge benefits to the environment, commuters and local people. Pledge to invest and become a part of a Community Benefit Society that puts people before profit.
