2026 Grow Urban Festival: Ladbroke Grove Open Volunteer Day

Energy Garden – Open Volunteer Day
Wednesday 10 June | 13:00–19:00
Ladbroke Grove Secret Garden

Hidden just behind Ladbroke Grove station, the Secret Garden is a quiet woodland being lovingly transformed into a vibrant community space.

Led by Energy Garden, who work with local communities and local authorities across London to create gardens, sustainability hubs, and community-owned solar spaces, the project brings together growing, learning, biodiversity, and collective care.

This particular garden has been made possible through support from the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, the Mayor of London’s Future Neighbourhoods Fund, and Energy Garden’s wider community partnerships.

Join a drop-in volunteer session, spend time in the garden, and witness a space slowly unfolding into something generous, resilient, and alive.

Please email callum@energygarden.co.uk for more information.

Saturday, 9 May 2026 (12:00–16:00)
Brondesbury Park Station Energy Garden, NW6 6RP

About the Day

Help us give a treasured community space a glow-up during a community build day! We will be renovating, replacing and updating the growing spaces, paths and other amenities of Brondesbury Park Station's Energy Garden, a community space in the heart of Queens Park. We will be working with reclaimed materials to give the garden some much-needed love and care.

We will:

  • Replace boards of growing spaces and raised beds

  • Create new paths to get around the garden

  • Carry out general maintenance to make the space more inviting and accessible for all!

What to expect

  • Help a green community space get it's groove back! Lend a hand in replacing the community garden's growing space infrastructure and build paths to make the space more accessible to all

  • Learn how to replace, renovate and build garden growing infrastructure, including vegetable beds - all while using reclaimed materials

  • Great opportunity to get out and exercise your body for a good cause!

  • Meet neighbours and people living in the area, and get to know a local green space

About the Community Garden

Brondesbury Park Energy Garden is a space for food growing, conservation and community. The garden was established in 2016, and has grown into a group that has transformed a track-side space into a green hub in Queens Park where local volunteers meet weekly to garden. Our vegetable beds, payths and other amenities are in need of renovating.
