Willesden Junction

Willesden Junction Station Energy Garden has come along leaps and bounds in the past years. This station is the gateway to Harlesden and has historically been a key transport hub for much of West London. With major investment entering into the area in the form of the OPDC masterplan and the arrival of the new HS2 line, we are seizeing this moment of change to secure a green future for this station, allowing local people to take ownership of the space throughout the transition.

Our garden at this station consists of planters on the platforms that are taken care of by local volunteers and planted with bright, green and fragrant plants that aim to provide beautiful settings for commuters using the overground. In 2019 we gained access to a space adjacent to the overground tracks, 200m2 of green space that we endearingly refer to as “The Mound”, located just outside the station, to the left of the Station Approach, by the bus stand. We are turning this space into a green, biodiverse oasis nestled between train tracks, utilising reclaimed materials from local industry to create growing space to plant different vegetables and native species.

We need your support to help maintain this garden, and your guidance to shape how it grows. We have plenty of great ideas on how we would like to see the station improve, and we would love to hear your thoughts. Our community always need help watering, weeding and planting, and we’re looking to welcome new faces!

We meet Thursdays 14:00-17:00. Come join and have your say! Sign up via the Join a Garden Group link on the home page or email juanpablo@energygarden.org.uk to get involved.
