2025 Harvest: A Potluck, a Party, and a Whole Lot of Gratitude

On 11 October 2025, we gathered at our Ebury Edge HQ to celebrate the changing season and the spirit of harvest. We kicked off the day by celebrating the graduation of our May 2025 Youth Training Programme cohort—a proud moment that set the tone for a day full of connection and joy.

As the weather turned crisp, the garden filled with warmth—not just from the autumn sun, but from the generosity, laughter, and delicious creations shared by our community.

Thank you to everyone who brought a dish to the potluck station, showcasing fresh ingredients, harvest-inspired creations, and creativity. It was a beautiful display of sharing and abundance.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Energy Garden celebration without our signature cob-oven pizzas, homemade ginger beer, and Energy Garden Pale Ale on tap — brewed with community-grown hops!

Workshops, Creativity, and Connection

Over 56 people joined us for the day, celebrating the harvest season with hands-on activities. Under the guidance of our Biodiversity Lead Ellen, guests created stunning pieces of nature art using fallen leaves, flowers, cones, and seeds gathered from the garden.

At the cookbook station, attendees could share their favourite recipes — and we’re still collecting more! If you’d like to add your harvest creation to our upcoming Community Cookbook: Autumn Edition, please send it to selvia@energygarden.org.uk.

Reunion and Reflections

One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was seeing so many Energy Garden youth trainees and graduates come together again, including our recently graduated May 2025 Youth Training Programme & the King’s Trust “Get Ready for Careers in Sustainability” cohorts. It was a joy to see our Senior Education Coordinator, Leila, reunited with the young changemakers she helped mentor.

A Visit from Butler & Parker

At 3:20 p.m., we were joined by Josh and Matthew, the award-winning designers behind Butler & Parker, who shared their journey creating the “Garden of the Future” at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which won Gold earlier this year.

They spoke about their decision to partner with Energy Garden to relocate plants from their show garden — giving them a second life across our network of urban green spaces. Their story reminded us how design, collaboration, and sustainability can come together to shape a greener city.

Looking Ahead

Afterwards, members of the Energy Garden team shared updates and upcoming plans — including a sneak peek at our Winter Fair, happening on 28 November (Partners’ Day) and 29 November (Community Day). Keep an eye on our social media and events page for more details!

Pumpkin Carving and Closing Moments

We wrapped up the afternoon with a lively pumpkin carving session, where everyone rolled up their sleeves, got creative (and a little messy), and crafted pumpkins that now adorn our Ebury Edge Garden.

It was the perfect close to a day filled with sharing, gathering, and gratitude — a reminder that the true harvest isn’t just what we grow in the soil, but what we nurture in our communities.
