Unmasking the “Exotic”: Exploring Global Fruits & Food Justice Workshops with Isis Amlak – Soursop/Soursap
Discover the fascinating world of tropical fruits from the Global South in our fun, hands-on workshops! Inspired by Trinidad and Tobago, these outdoor sessions explore the health benefits, history, and social justice issues surrounding tambrind, soursop, and papaya. Enjoy tasting, create recycled percussion instruments and beanbags from fruit seeds, and join engaging discussions on food, culture, and equity. Taking place in our beautiful, tranquil garden setting, children are welcomed but must be accompanied by an adult. A lively, educational experience for all!

Come learn basic carpentry skills, reuse timber, and build your very own custom planter for your balcony.

Pathway & Plant Tiles Workshops with Toby Laurent Belson – Session 6
This workshop gives us the chance to create ceramic tiles that will identify the plants or leave a message for all future visitors to our incredibly biodiverse wild green space. The tiles will be placed amongst the plants and pathways as a permanent reminder of our time spent in the secret garden of Ladbroke Grove. Clay, underglazes, and tools will be provided. Participants can complete a single tile in one session or work on a tile across multiple sessions or make more than one tile. Working with brushes, sponges, imprints, sgraffito, and stencils.

All ages welcome. Come for one session or several!

We will be recording the plant species in the garden and measuring the distinct habitat types using Defra’s Statutory Biodiversity Metric (Small Sites Metric) as a framework. No previous experience is required, just an interest in what is living and growing in the garden. Check out the Biodiversity page of the website for more info!

Guerrilla Crochet & Yarn Bombs Workshops with eco-artist Ilaria Di Fiore – Session 3
Help decorate a hidden urban garden using yarn and recycled materials. Wrap trees, fences, and decadent walls with your imagination. Add words, colours, textures—say what you feel and share what matters. Weave your message into a collective story. Express yourself, connect with others, and stitch it all together. Then sit back and enjoy the colourful world we created together. All ages welcome!
