Energy Garden at Boomtown’s Power of Now: Power to, for, and by the People

From 6–10 August 2025, we set up camp at Boomtown Chapter 4: Power of Now in the beautiful South Downs National Park’s Matterley Estate. We are set in Thrutopia, a space to pause, recharge, and reimagine — and we were in great company, surrounded by forward-thinkers and creatives from across the country. It was the perfect place to slow down from the festival rush, relax in the shade, and still soak up the great Boomtown vibe.

What went down at the Energy Garden tent:

  • Solar panel making workshops

  • Turmeric print-making, recycled tetrapak etchings, trace-a-face portraits

  • Cold pints from our new tap — pouring out the latest batch of Energy Garden Pale Ale, brewed with community-harvested hops

  • Chilled beats, good chats, and plenty of dance breaks

People stopped by, learned who we are, why we do what we do, and left knowing they were sipping on something truly community-powered.

We loved meeting everyone who danced with us, grabbed a pint (or a few more), signed our bar toppers, traced-a-face, built solar panels, or just chilled in our space for a breather. The best part? Seeing people walk away recharged, inspired, and ready to take a little piece of Energy Garden spirit to the festival.

Huge thanks to Energy Garden and Boomtown Thrutopia team and to everyone who made our space a joy to be in.
