Energy Garden & Wayward Present: Cultivate Colindale
This August, Energy Garden and Wayward are joining forces to transform 4,000m² of vacant land beside Heybourne Park into a lively public destination – a place for sustainability, creativity, and community.
At its centre will be the House of Wayward Plants Reuse Centre, building on over ten years as the RHS’s Official Reuse Partner. Equipped with greenhouses, workshop space, and a materials yard, the centre will become a base for redistributing rescued plants, trees, and reclaimed landscaping materials, helping them find new homes in green community spaces across London.
Together with local residents, volunteers, and partners, we’ll also create:
🌱 Community gardens and allotments for growing food and flowers
🐝 A biodiverse meadow buzzing with pollinators
🌳 A community tree nursery to grow trees for future planting projects
🤝 Welcoming gathering spaces for workshops, events, and conversations

We need your hands, ideas, and energy to make it happen! Throughout August, we’ll be running volunteer build sessions where you can plant and build alongside fellow volunteers, meet neighbours, and make new friends while shaping a shared space and a green legacy for Colindale.
Let’s cultivate something extraordinary together.
Come along, roll up your sleeves, and help Cultivate Colindale!
